PSA Overview
For many baby boomers, President Kennedy’s famous “Ask not…” speech was a rallying cry and compelled them to make a difference and answer the call to service. The Corporation for National and Community Service’s new PSA campaign, entitled “Again,” is intended to encourage baby boomers to “lead, inspire and change the world…again” — sending a strong message that this generation made a difference once before and can do the same today by helping communities and individuals in need.
- The PSAs feature baby boomers of different backgrounds sharing how community service has changed their lives and inviting their peers to join them.
- Interested baby boomers are directed to 1-800-424-8867 and this website — www.getinvolved.gov — to search for local volunteer opportunities that best suit their experience, needs and lifestyle.
- PSAs will begin running in January 2006.
- The Corporation for National and Community Service is distributing the spots to news outlets nationwide in January 2006.
